Professional Obligation
Are You Unknowingly Violating Your Mandatory Reporting Obligations?
Every licensed mental health professional in the United States is legally required to report suspected child abuse. Child Psychological Abuse — DSM-5 V995.51 — is child abuse. If you are seeing children or families in your practice and you are not trained to recognize it — you may already be in violation.
⚠️
Are You Recognizing Child Psychological Abuse?
If you are working with children in high-conflict custody situations and you have not been trained in the Childress three-indicator framework — you may be missing Child Psychological Abuse in your caseload right now. Ignorance of a diagnostic standard is not a defense against an ethics complaint.
⚠️
Are You Filing Mandatory Reports?
DSM-5 V995.51 carries the same mandatory reporting obligation as physical or sexual abuse in every state in the United States. If you are encountering this presentation and not filing reports — you are in violation of your state mandatory reporting statute. Every session without a report is documented exposure.
⚠️
Are You Prepared for an Ethics Complaint?
APA Ethics Standards 2.01, 2.03, 2.04, and 3.04 require competence, currency of knowledge, and avoidance of harm. If a complaint is filed against you for failure to recognize or report Child Psychological Abuse — what is your documented defense? USP certification is that defense.

Are You Leaving Your Clients Without Their Most Powerful Tool?

If you are representing a targeted parent and you have not requested a CAPA clinical assessment — you may be leaving the single most powerful piece of clinically documented evidence off the table. USP Certified Attorneys know how to file the motion, cite the correct state statute, and create liability for the refusing sheriff's department.

Are You Actually Protecting the Children You Are Appointed to Represent?

A child who has been conditioned to reject a loving parent will tell you exactly what they have been programmed to say. Without clinical training you cannot tell the difference between a child's authentic voice and a child who has been psychologically abused into silence.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Who can administer CAPA?+
CAPA may only be administered by licensed mental health professionals who are Professional or Founding Members of US Psychology Organization and who have completed CAPA certification training. Clinicians must hold an active license in good standing in their state.
Is CAPA a replacement for clinical judgment?+
No. CAPA is a structured clinical assessment tool that supports — not replaces — the clinical judgment of the administering licensed professional. All CAPA packages require clinician review and sign-off before any submission or reporting.
What happens to the recordings?+
All recordings are encrypted and stored in Cloudflare R2 secure storage. Access is controlled through time-limited signed links. Every access is logged with timestamp and accessor identity. Neither parent has direct access. Only the administering clinician and authorized parties with clinician approval can access recordings.
Is CAPA admissible in court?+
CAPA produces a clinically documented mandatory reporting package. Its admissibility in any proceeding is determined by the applicable court and jurisdiction. US Psychology Organization makes no representations about admissibility. The clinical documentation package is designed to support mandatory reporting obligations under existing state and federal law.
Can I cancel my membership?+
Yes. Memberships may be cancelled at any time. No refunds are issued for the current membership year. Certifications associated with the membership will expire at the end of the current certification period.
Is my membership tax deductible?+
US Psychology Organization is not currently a 501(c)(3) organization. Consult your tax advisor regarding deductibility of membership and certification fees as professional development expenses.

WHY YOUR MEMBERSHIP MATTERS

Child Psychological Abuse is defined. It is diagnosable. It is mandatorily reportable. And it is being systematically ignored by every institution that should be protecting children.

US Psychology Organization is the only professional organization in the United States specifically dedicated to the recognition, clinical assessment, and mandatory reporting of Child Psychological Abuse under DSM-5 V995.51.
